In a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack, an attacker sends thousands of fake requests to exceed bandwidth, flood a server's resources and overload the system. In this way, valid requests can only be processed very slowly or not at all. Usually, a large number of compromised computers, so-called botnets, are used to generate massive traffic. We use these automated protection tools to protect your web applications, websites, servers and the infrastructure of IT from this threat. Our automated system detects almost all attack patterns in advance, so it can block the attacks and stop the vast majority of them. It uses the latest hardware applications and sophisticated filtering technologies to give you first-class protection against large-scale DDoS attacks. And it's all free of charge.

Automated recognition of attack patterns

In addition to detecting an attack based on traffic volume or the number of packets, we can clearly define the actual attack and then respond specifically to that particular type of attack. For example, a UDP flood with 500k PPS is harmless to a server. However, a packet with 500k SYN could be a problem. Our DDoS protection tools can detect exactly these kinds of differences.
 

Filtering traffic for known attack patterns

This method allows us to effectively philtre out the most popular attacks by putting them through the philtres of traffic scrubbing. The following attacks were successfully filtered out using this method: DNS reflection, NTP reflection and UDP floods on port 80.
 

Challenge-Response authentication and dynamic traffic filtering

This last layer filters out attacks in SYN floods, DNS floods and invalid packets. We can also flexibly adapt to other unique attacks and reliably defend against them. The technologies mentioned support a high level of automation, which our technicians continuously optimise step by step. We can improve the system by analysing each attack and constantly adapting our filters and reactions.
 

How does it affect customers?

DDoS protection has not caused any cost or price increase and is available to all customers. Our system detects DDoS attacks at all times, and its ability to detect them is constantly being improved. As soon as an attack is detected, the dynamic DDoS protection tools immediately spring into action and filter out the attack. The DDoS protection system usually does not affect your traffic due to its dynamic mitigation methods.
